Pieridae is a Canadian energy company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Through several corporate
and asset acquisitions the Company has grown into a significant upstream and midstream producer
with assets concentrated in the Canadian Foothills, producing conventional natural gas, NGLs,
condensate and sulphur.
Management is excited about Pieridae’s opportunities and prospects within our existing asset base in
the Canadian Foothills; during the past year Pieridae has strategically refocused on sustaining and
growing its upstream exploration and production (“E&P”) and midstream business. Our objective is to
continue Pieridae’s pivot toward growing a sustainable and profitable conventional Foothills oil and
natural gas business while continuing to explore opportunities to diversify market access for the
products we produce.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an ambitious communicator who is eager to learn, exercise their skills and be a
part of a team. Our communications team tackles everything from internal to external including
websites, social media channels, supporting internal departments, strategizing, events, branding and
general content development. This role will support the Communications Specialist with ongoing
communications strategies and tactics and will also be encouraged to explore their skills and come up
with ideas/campaigns of their own that support the Company.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your communication and branding skills in a fast-paced,
hands-on environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping communication campaigns that align with
Company goals, while being part of a supportive team dedicated to professional growth and
development.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL:
- Currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of a formal co-op program in Communications,
Marketing, Journalism or Public Relations at an accredited post-secondary school.
- Strong writing skills with a solid understanding of CP and AP style guides.
- An ability to work well both unsupervised and with a small team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to sharing ideas and solutions.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize
effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content creation tools, and basic digital marketing
techniques is an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Write engaging content for web, social media, presentations, briefing notes, key messages,
etc., ensuring clarity and accessibility for diverse audiences.
- Proofread and edit communications materials for accuracy and consistency.
- Supporting the monthly content calendar strategy and development to ensure alignment
with overall communication goals.
- Create visually compelling communication materials that reinforce key messages and support
branding efforts.
- Monitor media coverage, including traditional and social media, and track media analytics to
evaluate campaign success.
- Support employee communications and collaborate with internal teams to deliver relevant
messaging to staff.
- Contribute to the development of core communications products, such as newsletters and
promotional materials.
- Update website content, manage posts, and ensure the accuracy of online information.
- Assist with event planning and execution, ensuring consistent brand messaging and effective
communication strategies.
- Conduct research to support communication campaigns and objectives, analyzing trends and
audience insights.
