WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: a journalism, communications, or marketing degree
  • Demonstrated experience in sport or a PR agency delivering large-scale promotional plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in gaining positive coverage for events.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

The Communications & PR Specialist will work closely with media, community, and partners to engage media and drive awareness of participation and attendance. The role will take the lead on executing the tactical PR plan across Australian cricket, with a focus on international and community cricket, and diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
We are recruiting for a Communications & PR Specialist within our Digital, Marketing and Communications department, and we are seeking internal applications.
This is a level 2 position, and the key deliverables include executing a tactical PR plan across Australian cricket, including for the national teams, community initiatives and diversity and inclusion programs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Communications you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working with the Senior Manager, Commercial Communications, and national Teams Communications Managers to support and execute the overall tactical and operational PR approach for international cricket, including player profiling, event promotion, season launches and new media outreach.
  • Supporting and executing PR plans for commercial, government, broadcast and charity partners in relation to international and community cricket where required.
  • Leading and executing PR plans for community cricket initiatives including the Growing Cricket for Girls Fund, Woolworths Community Fund and Woolworths Cricket Blast.
  • Leading and executing PR plans for Cricket Australia’s inclusion teams, including the National Inclusion Championships and international tours for the national teams and Cricket Australia’s First Nations programs, including the National Indigenous Cricket Championships.
  • Supporting the broader communications team, including at peak periods for Big Bash and other domestic cricket and key projects as required.
