JOB OVERVIEW:

The Communications Specialist applies their conceptual knowledge of Communications and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving various straightforward Communications problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Communications Specialist understands critical business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field required
  • 3+ years of experience working within an in-house creative department
  • Oil and Gas industry experience is preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a fast-paced creative environment with an understanding of the nuances in processes for print and digital design production
  • Recent experience with project management and digital asset management, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in developing creative processes that allow high-quality outputs while adhering to deadlines
  • Assist in managing Creative and Production agencies as well as ongoing vendor management
  • Excellent attention to detail

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with client teams to intake creative requests, identify expectations, create a scope with milestones, and develop a clear and actionable project plan
  • Identify and communicate project dependency, risk, and constraint and create a contingency plan when dependency prevents project progress
  • Communicate project briefs to the Creative team, interpret stakeholder goals into a tangible plan, and answer any internal and external questions
  • Manage day-to-day projects and address problems before projects are at risk. When issues arise, chairs meetings and ensures the team is aligned for actionable steps
  • Manage several projects concurrently to be delivered on time or early, all while meeting or exceeding creative objectives and expectations
  • Build strong work relationships with internal and external team members, establish themselves a role as a reliable consultant
