NAIT is looking for a strategic, dynamic, innovative, and creative thinker with a passion for developing and implementing successful communications strategies and plans, crafting compelling content to advance NAIT business goals, objectives, and key results. Reporting to the Manager, External Communications, this role will be a great choice for someone who is a strong advisor, thoughtful decision-maker, and cultivator of positive relationships. This role will integrate as part of the operating teams they support and are encouraged to become a subject matter expert. They work with their clients to continually seek opportunities to help achieve business outcomes while advancing and protecting the NAIT brand and reputation. Areas of focus will include supporting several schools as part of an interdisciplinary team to highlight NAIT’ s innovation and value.
In this role you’ll also use your creative skills to develop content and make it shine for a variety of internal and external channels. The Communication Strategist is responsible for project intake from their client area(s) into the department and works with other Marketing and Communications team members to plan resources effectively for the projects they are leading and measure efforts to ensure effective and valued communications support is provided. Our successful candidate will be a confident self-starter with a high degree of professionalism to help develop strong relationships and influence decisions with colleagues and clients.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of communications theory, practices, and techniques.
Strong, versatile writing and editing skills.
Ability to analyze relevant data and analytics to inform insights and make sense of a high quantity of complex information.
Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues rooted in NAIT’s values.
Manages communication strategy timelines and budgets.
Measures and reports on their work to demonstrate effectiveness, and instill a culture of collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of digital marketing and social media best practices.
Superior organization, project management and client management skills.
Ability to engage in continuous learning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree or Diploma in Public Relations or Communications.
Minimum five years of related experience.
Equivalent combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $82,189.64 - $108,886.96 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Provide strategic communication management to clients and gain in-depth understanding of their needs and align with NAIT priorities.
