Description
This is a challenging support position for a subject matter expert (SME) to help CIWT Pensacola equip Navy Information System Technicians with knowledge of radio frequency communication principles, communications systems and components, communications security, and communications procedures, practices, and management. This position supports development and sustainment of classroom environments following the NAVEDTRA 142 series of manuals to prepare students to operate external communications suites in the high frequency (HF) through extremely high frequency (EHF) radio frequency (RF) spectrums. This SME support for CIWT enables comprehensive training that includes operation, system configuration, system performance monitoring, fault isolation, and circuit restoration of external communication (EXCOMM) systems. This position proactively collaborates with the CIWT N76 staff to accomplish its mission using excellent written and verbal skills. This SME's work is evaluated on soundness of judgment, overall support performance, constructive team collaboration, and customer satisfaction. Travel to fleet concentration areas is occasionally required. Attaining and maintaining a DoW Secret level security clearance is required. Specifically, a successful candidate will · Have at least ten (10) years of combined communication systems and spectrum management experience, as required by the contract, covering the array of EXCOMM systems used afloat by US Navy ITs and taught via the Journeyman Communications Course (JCC) curriculum. · Thoroughly understand RF communications TTE, related curriculum content, training delivery architecture, content development and staff-level course management while demonstrating excellent written and verbal skills. · Understand US Navy radio communication service requirements including experience with preparing and analyzing tactical communications plans, designating and setting up voice channels, numbering channels, in addition to prioritizing and grouping voice channels into subsets to reflect tactical channel allocations. · Have a thorough understanding of radio communication service allocations and technical specifications of services/technologies in an afloat operational environment · Support CIWT's IT training staff and strategic course initiatives across their enterprise. · Demonstrate meaningful hands-on experience with and working knowledge of the Multipurpose Reconfigurable Training System (MRTS) 3D™ virtual training system · Assist CIWT in managing RF communications course lifecycles including content development, attending technical meetings, monitoring course convening feedback reports, tracking and reporting on curriculum revisions, and participating in course reviews and workshops. · Coordinate with CIWT’s subordinate commands to achieve EXCOMM systems course modernization objectives. · Use a CeTARS account and proficiently assess course content plus delivery and training technology essential to effective course management, then provide CIWT with status, alternatives and solutions. · Collaborate with team members and customer personnel to develop, enhance, and evaluate new or existing learning objectives and course content · Monitor and evaluate training, assessing results, and recommending and implementing enhancements · Develop and submit periodic contract status report inputs This position is located onboard CIWT Corry Station, Pensacola, FL and is not a part of the DCWF Program. Education: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience. Fourteen combined years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
