About the Role Our client is a leader in the New Zealand energy sector, and they’re looking for a talented Communications Technician to help keep critical systems running, from substations to remote monitoring sites. What You’ll Do Install, maintain, test, and repair communication systems (voice, data, fibre optics, wireless telemetry) across generation, distribution, and control networks Diagnose faults, undertake preventative maintenance, and ensure high availability of communication networks Support integration of new technologies and communication upgrades (e.g. digital radio, SCADA links, fibre expansion) Liaise with internal engineering, operations and safety teams to ensure compliance with relevant NZ standards, codes and safety procedures Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of work, failures, and corrective actions Travel to field / remote sites as required You’ll Bring Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. Telecommunications, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Communications Systems) or equivalent experience Proven hands-on experience with industrial / utility communication systems (voice/data/fibre/telemetry etc.) Solid problem-solving and fault-finding skills Familiarity with NZ regulatory environment / safety standards in energy / utility sectors Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Valid NZ driver licence, and willingness to travel to field / remote sites Ready to make your move?
