Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • The Communicative Disorders Assistant works under the direction of qualified speech-language pathologists. Responsibilities include facilitating the delivery of speech-language pathology treatment for our clients.
  • To support the recommendations made by speech-language pathologists regarding cognitive-communication disorders, language, dysphagia, speech, voice, and fluency.
  • Provides client and family-centred care, which is goal directed, evidence based and outcome oriented.
  • To plan creative and meaningful treatment activities that are individualized to meet a client’s needs and interests.
  • Records data relative to client performance and reports changes in client performance/status to the supervising speech-language pathologist.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a Communicative Disorders Assistant program;
  • Registration with the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada (CDACC);
  • You have a valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle; and
  • Proof of professional liability insurance
