NOW HIRING: COMMUNICATIVE DISORDERS ASSISTANT (CDA)

Location: Ottawa and surrounding area
Position Type: Independent contractor, flexible hours
Speech-Language Ottawa is seeking a creative, client and family-focused CDA to join our team. In this role, you’ll work with children and/or adults in homes, daycares, schools, community spaces, and virtually, helping to build meaningful communication skills that support real-life success.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A graduate of an accredited CDA program and registered with CDAAC
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while seeking support when needed
  • Able to follow SLP-led treatment plans while bringing creativity and initiative to sessions
  • Eligible for professional liability insurance
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Responsibilities
  • Providing one-on-one therapy to preschoolers, school-aged children, and/or adults in their homes, community settings, and virtually
  • Implementing individualized treatment goals under the supervision of an SLP
  • Creating fun, engaging sessions based on client interests and strengths
  • Coaching families and caregivers to support skill development at home
  • Collaborating with other professionals on the client’s care team
  • Keeping clear and timely documentation of sessions and progress
