Job Details Job Location: TX-Waco Bureau of Prisons - Waco, TX 76703 Position Type: Full Time Regular Education Level: Associate Degree Salary Range: $16.89 - $21.11 Hourly Travel Percentage: Greater than 50% Job Shift: Day Job Category: Corrections ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Schedule/Hours: Day shift, full-time 40 hours This position is responsible for: Identifies and monitors community access of clients according to the directives of the Program Review Team, including clients in the Home Detention component. Key Responsibilities: Once ready for home detention program, informs family and inmate of rules and regulations for programs; makes employment site visits and weekly home visits to monitor compliance with program. Assists clients identified as eligible for the Home Detention program with release planning and required documents in a timely fashion to ensure approval of the placement in advance of the anticipated placement date. Coordinates the Job Search/Job Approval documents for a change in employment after placement in the Home Detention program, if needed; ensures current work and/or appointment schedules are in the Home Detention logbook, making revisions as needed. Conducts bi-weekly progress reviews of Home Detention participants and documents same. Conducts home and work visits to all Home Detention participants on a weekly schedule, unless authorized in writing from the CCM for reduction in visits; prepares proper request forms for reduction in visits for the Director to approve and submit to the CCM for final approval. Monitors accountability calls and required visits to the RRC facility by Home Detention participants; reviews and copies for the resident files all monthly phone bills for those on Home Detention and residents eligible for Level 4 weekend passes. Schedules and monitors UA’s and alcohol testing for all Home Detention participants in coordination with Residential Aide. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, and adding machine. Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited supervision. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like with the exception of home visits.
