Summary The Community and Partnerships Coordinator supports the Office of Children, Youth and Families (OCYF) in strengthening community relationships and increasing awareness, participation, and trust in DHS services. This position assists in implementing engagement strategies that amplify community voice, promote transparency, and improve access to programs. The coordinator will support volunteer activation, event coordination, outreach activities, and collaborative efforts across DHS and its partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Community Presence & Representation: Represent OCYF at events, meetings, and forums. Serve as a consistent, approachable presence in communities served by DHS to help build trust and gather feedback. Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of community engagement events, including CYF-101 sessions, resource fairs, school visits, and public information sessions. Assist with logistics, promotion, registration, and post-event follow-up. Volunteer & Alumni Engagement: Maintain an organized list of volunteers and alumni (former staff or participants) willing to support outreach efforts. Help mobilize volunteers for speaking engagements, recruitment drives, and community initiatives. Communications & Messaging: Draft content for flyers, social media posts, newsletters, and outreach emails. Work with DHS communications staff to ensure clear, inclusive, and aligned messaging. Outreach Tracking & Follow-Up: Help maintain records of engagement efforts and track participation, feedback, and outcomes. Enter data into shared databases or tracking systems. Internal Coordination: Work closely with the Office of Equity and Engagement and regional CYF offices to support aligned strategies, reduce duplication, and elevate community-informed practices. Supervisory Responsibilities None Additional Responsibilities Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills Ability to plan, organize, and support logistics for events and outreach activities Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and community voice Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Comfort working in diverse settings with youth, families, and service providers Flexibility and willingness to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in human services, communications, public administration, or related field OR Associate degree plus at least two (2) years of relevant experience in community engagement, outreach, or social services OR An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances. - AND - Valid driver’s license The approved salary range for this position is $63,000 - $68,000 per year.
