Description

Role Description
Reporting to the GM Community & Regional Development, the Community and Stakeholder Manager will support the GM and relevant Development Managers to secure and maintain stakeholder and community support by building and maintaining positive relationships with project neighbours, community groups and project stakeholders throughout the development of our projects.
This role is based in Sydney, Australia, with regular travel interstate and to rural locations.
Responsibilities
Key activities and results areas:

Community Engagement

  • Support planning, developing and implementation of community and stakeholder engagement plans, working closely with the Development Manager.
  • Develop, manage and co-ordinate the delivery of community engagement events and programs, including information and communication material to support development projects.
  • Attend and coordinate stakeholder and neighbour meetings with the relevant Development Manager.
  • Work with the GM Community & Regional Development and the relevant Development Managers to determine best strategy to progress neighbour agreements and benefit sharing initiatives for each project.

Community Investment and Benefit Sharing

  • Support the GM Community & Regional Development to determine best strategy to progress neighbour agreements and benefit sharing initiatives.
  • Support Development Managers with landholder payments, land rates, land taxes, by coordinating inputs from the finance team, to ensure Iberdrola Australia meets its obligations under land contracts.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage complaints and ensure compliance with internal and external complaints handling guidelines.
  • Provide support to the Development Managers where required and particularly where related stakeholder matters arise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Master of Business, Commerce, Public Relations, Sociology, Political Science, Law, Public Administration, Environment and Planning, IAP training, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ professional experience in resources, energy or consulting (preferably wind, solar or BESS)

Skills & Experience

  • Community communications experience.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills.
  • Efficient and effective project management.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and thrive within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated use of initiative and a common-sense approach.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement, project management, the Australian energy and or renewable market, planning approval process.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience, including community events coordination.
  • Demonstrated landholder and stakeholder liaison and negotiation skills, including land agreements.

Others

  • As a worker, you must comply so far as reasonably practicable, with any reasonable instruction that is given by Iberdrola Australia to comply with health and safety requirements.
  • Availability to travel interstate and to rural locations.
  • Full drivers’ licence
