Caring Approach is a dynamic, vibrant, and supportive organisation. We provide tailored in-home support and community care for the elderly, people with physical and intellectual disabilities, and those needing short-term assistance after hospital discharge.
We are seeking dedicated support workers with experience in manual handling and supporting clients with mental health needs to join our team. These skills are essential for this role as we focus on promoting independence and wellbeing for people living at home.

General Duties include:

  • Provide personal care and support in the client’s home, including assistance with showering and bathing
  • Domestic tasks
  • Food preparation and service
  • Medication administration
  • Assistance with activities of daily living
  • Transport to and from medical appointments and social outings
  • Supporting people with complex needs, including those with mental health needs
  • Manual handling tasks in line with safe work practices

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in manual handling and supporting people with mental health needs (mandatory)
  • Certificate III or above in Disability, Aged Care, or Community Care (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience delivering personal care
  • Experience supporting people requiring palliative care
  • Understanding of person-centred care
  • Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to follow programs and routines while engaging positively with clients
  • Current Police Check, NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC), Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Driver’s licence and own fully insured vehicle
  • Smart phone capable of installing apps
  • Appropriate working rights in Australia
  • Up-to-date with NSW Government vaccine requirements for essential workers
  • Completion of NDIS New Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete during induction)

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting people to increase independence
  • Ability to speak a language other than English
  • Certification/experience in bowel care or medication administration
  • Experience in positive behaviour support and person-centred active support
