The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Regional and Specialist team includes Integrated Specialist Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, Primary Healthcare Services, Birthing and Early Childhood Services (South), and Child and Youth Services. Our purpose is to connect, guide, and empower teams and communities through culturally safe, transparent, and responsive ways. About the Role? As Child and Family Health Clinician, you will work in partnership with the Community Family Support Practitioner, your role is to provide a culturally safe, comprehensive home visiting service to women pregnant with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander baby and their families. The Child and Family Health Clinician is responsible for maintaining the highest standards in nursing practice, in line with the IUIH Ways. Your day-to-day duties will include: Utilise the nursing/midwifery process to deliver care aligned with client centred principles, including therapeutic relationships, behaviour change theory, self-efficacy, strength based and solution focused approaches. Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage in Reflective Practice and supervision to continually enhance practice in line with the service model. Manage a caseload of up to 20 clients. Plan and deliver home visits in accordance with clients’ identified goals and care plans. Provide education, support, and referral information to assist women and families to identify, work toward, and evaluate their goals About You? Current Criminal History Check. Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD). AHPRA Registration. Bachelor degree in Nursing or Midwifery. Post Graduate qualification in Child and Family Health or working towards. Minimum two years’ post graduate experience in nursing/midwifery/child health. Experience that demonstrates your ability to: utilise nursing processes and clinical expertise; build therapeutic relationships; recognise the difference between "fix-it" model (a problem oriented or deficit based model) and "strength-based" model; engage in client centred goal setting; use problem-solving techniques and negotiation skills in accordance with motivational interviewing and behaviour change theory; utilise strong advocacy and teaching skills. Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities What Can we Offer?
