Description

Role Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary staff nurse to join our Children’s Community Nursing Service. We have positions within our Inclusion Nursing team where we provide vital nursing support for students who have complex health, additional needs or Learning disabilities. You will be based within the Leeds Specialist Inclusive Learning Centres (SILCs) across the city.
We work Monday to Friday with various hours from 08.00 – 16.00 and provide all year-round cover excluding bank holidays. We support applications for flexible working when we can.
Candidates must be a registered nurse and have previous clinical experience of working with children or young people with complex health or additional needs. You will receive a full package of training with preceptorship until you are competent and confident to work alone. We welcome newly qualified nurse applicants.
The role will involve some travel so access to transport with business insurance will be required.
We are looking for individuals who are caring, fun, resilient and motivated to work alongside a specialist team of professionals.
You will be responsible for providing clinical care within the SILC and holding a caseload of children under supervision. The work includes planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating care for children to enable them to safely access education. Our team focus is to promote opportunities for children and young people to be involved in all aspects of school life and you will be supported to provide training.
The role will involve co-ordinating the shift as well as teaching and supporting other team members.
Candidates will be problem solvers, be innovative, have excellent communication skills, can work autonomously and be able to prioritise, organise and delegate work across the team.
We work a cross service model of working so you will have the opportunity to spend time and work with our other clinical teams which on occasions you may be asked to support.
The role is fixed term for 12 Months.
