About the role As a Community Connection Coordinator, this is your opportunity to support the Mission Objectives of The Salvation Army in the Community Connection opportunities, volunteer coordination and support of Corps activities and initiatives. Reporting to the Corps Officers – Warrnambool Corps, this part-time role offers 22.8 hours is fixed term contracted until November 2026, located in Warrnambool, VIC. How you will make an impact Build strong relationships with community members, agencies and businesses to increase engagement with The Salvation Army Warrnambool and support its programs and services. Coordinate key community initiatives including food distribution, Christmas Cheer, breakfast activities, referrals, events and fundraising such as the Red Shield Appeal. Recruit, train and support volunteers, managing rosters, performance and resources to ensure effective service delivery. Use data and local insights to identify community needs and develop programs in partnership with local organisations, businesses and councils. Foster a person-centred and empowering culture, promoting ownership, inclusion and effective organisation of time, priorities and volunteer supervision. What you will bring A relevant tertiary qualification, at degree level with experience; or diploma level with substantial experience in community engagement; or less formal qualifications with specialised skills sufficient to perform at this level. Demonstrated experience in developing, running and facilitating community-based activities. Experience in community engagement on behalf of a faith-based institution or not-for-profit organisation. Experience in asset-based community development Experience in managing and supporting volunteers or employees, including addressing accountability and performance matters, prioritising tasks, managing time effectively and using digital tools and social media confidently.
