POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Coordinator plays a key role in advancing Able’s mission through the coordination of fundraising initiatives, donor engagement efforts, and community-facing events. This position blends creativity, strategy, and relationship-building to support the organization’s growth and sustainability. The ideal candidate is a compelling communicator, detail-oriented planner, and passionate advocate for inclusion and impact.
This position does not supervise staff but leads and executes critical functions related to development, fundraising, and community engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years of experience in fundraising, event planning, donor relations, or grant writing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiarity with CRM and donor databases (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce).
Experience coordinating or supporting public events or fundraising campaigns.
Prior work in a nonprofit, community-based, or human services environment.

Skills:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, interpret, and write business correspondence, reports, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Competency in handling U.S. currency and basic measurements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate donor records and communications using the organization’s CRM.
· Support donor stewardship activities including thank-you letters, recognition, and impact updates.
· Assist with internal reporting and development-related communications.
· Develop a year-round volunteer recruitment strategy to attract individuals and groups who align with the organization’s mission and values.
· Create clear role descriptions for both event-based and ongoing volunteer opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
· Manage the volunteer lifecycle from onboarding and training to scheduling and recognition, fostering a positive and rewarding volunteer experience.
· Support signature fundraising and outreach events in collaboration with the Public Relations and Engagement Strategist
· Serve as a point of contact for event partners, vendors, and participants.
· Support campaign development, donor appeals, and creative fundraising initiatives.
· Design and implement peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns where supporters, board members, and community advocates can create their own fundraising pages and share them within their personal and professional networks.
· Provide participants with toolkits, branded materials, sample messages, and coaching to help them successfully engage their networks.
· Incorporate peer-to-peer strategies into annual events such as walks, galas, or awareness days to expand reach and diversify revenue.
· Track participant engagement, celebrate milestones, and recognize top fundraisers through awards, shout-outs, and exclusive opportunities.
· Evaluate campaign performance to refine future strategies and identify potential major donor prospects emerging from peer-to-peer networks.
