Description
Reporting to the Regional Supervisor, the Community Corrections Officer is responsible for coordinating the community programming and risk assessment needs of clients serving community sentences imposed by the Nunavut Court. They will be responsible for the direct supervision of all adults and youth serving probation, conditional sentences and Federal paroled offenders in conjunction with the Federal Parole Officer in Iqaluit. The incumbent will have administration duties that include overseeing the Nunavut Fines Option Program and spending authority of operational needs. The incumbent will have to investigate charges and give evidence in court concerning violations of the court orders they are responsible for. This role will provide counseling and identify community support mechanisms for the client and their family.
