Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Community Development, the Community Development Coordinator for YWCA xʷƛ̓əpicən, Cheshá7min-aw̓txw and May Brown Place will connect tenants with community resources, and support the development of community activities within the housing sites.
YWCA xʷƛ̓əpicən, Cheshá7min-aw̓txw and May Brown Place provide rent geared to income (RGI) housing for women and their children. There are community gardens, outdoor play areas and amenity rooms.

PAY RATE: $28.05 PER HOUR

Responsibilities
  • Meet with new tenants to provide orientation to their new housing and the community
  • Schedule, organize and facilitate monthly community meetings with tenants
  • Support the creation of tenant events, celebrations, and workshops, ensuring active tenant involvement. Additionally, create a monthly calendar to display all activities, meetings, and events.
  • Apply a participant-centered approach with an intersectional trauma informed lens to all tenant interactions and activities
  • Responsible for coordination and fair distribution of donations
  • Responsible for spending, tracking and submitting expense reports for all site budgets
  • Supervise volunteers and practicum students
  • Participate in community committees
  • Distribute property management notices to tenants
  • Provide entry to vendors attending at the housing sites
  • Report repair issues to property management through the repair portal
  • Coordinate with YWCA programs, including employment and single mother’s services, to distribute information and schedule meetings with tenant involvement.
  • Providing tours to donors/donor groups
  • Coordinate with fund development regarding donations of goods and services
  • Keep up to date on available resources and programs that may benefit the families
  • Responsible for tracking statistics and program outcomes
  • Adhering to onsite Health and Safety Procedures
  • Other duties as required
