POSITION OVERVIEW

The Community Development Manager serves as a dynamic connector between our organization, funders, the community, volunteers, staff, and board. This individual will actively hold space for funder engagement, organize fundraisers and donor interactions, and oversee program coordination, including staff and board meeting facilitation. They will work closely with founders, garden/program managers, garden educators, the grant writer, advisory board members, volunteers, and local partners.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Community Development, Environmental Studies, Nonprofit Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, outreach, and program coordination (e.g. in community gardens, nonprofits).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities—able to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Comfortable facilitating meetings and collaborating across staff, board, and volunteers.
  • Availability for occasional evenings/weekends for events, donor meetings, or community gatherings.
Responsibilities
