Responsible for: Deliver a developmentally appropriate, PSHE curriculum-based preventative program designed to explore issues around relationships. Lead sessions around healthy relationships for children and young people aged 4-18 and give children and young people opportunities to discuss elements of healthy and unhealthy relationships. Work closely with senior leadership teams within educational provisions to organise sessions, offer guidance and drive future work. Organise own work and timetabling with minimum supervision. Work within the community to promote the service and deliver sessions within alternative provisions, including the Youth Service, Childrens Centres and other statutory and non-statutory organisations.
Objectives: To hold conversations about the root causes of violence, and educate children and young people on gender-based violence and provide support to organisations around this.
To work as a member of the DIAS team in fulfilling its objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
EXPERIENCE
1.1 An excellent knowledge of issues surrounding domestic and sexual abuse and the impact on Children & Young People.
1.2 Experience of group facilitation, especially with children and young people.
1.3 Have an understanding of the charity sector and how registered charities operate.
1.4 Of liaising and working with outside agencies.
1.5 Of accurate record keeping and report writing.
1.6 Of working with Children and Young People in a support role.
1.7 Experience of liaising with schools

QUALIFICATIONS
2.1 Good level of literacy and numeracy.
2.2 Level 3 qualification in child development or Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent) qualification.
2.3 Safeguarding children and young people training.

3.2 Ability to effectively engage vulnerable children & young people and effectively identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
3.3 Proficient IT skills using a variety of programmes.

3.5 Good written and verbal communication skills.
3.6 Ability to keep and maintain accurate and timely records of service user contact and to produce reports as required that are concise and timely.
