POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Engagement and Volunteer Resources Coordinator is a newly created position within Woodcliff United Church (WUC). This part-time role is crucial in fostering internal and external community relationships, coordinating activities aimed at involving new volunteers outside of the community of faith, and managing our volunteer base while adhering to the United Church’s Duty of Care policy. The ideal candidate will have a heart for service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to inspire and mobilize volunteers.
This position reports to the Minister and is supported by the Ministry and Personnel (M&P) Committee. Work priorities will be collaboratively set with the Minister and reviewed with the Chair of Council as needed. This position plays a key role in strengthening our connection to the broader community while also supporting the health and sustainability of volunteer engagement within our faith community.
Depending on the candidate, there is an opportunity for the individual to fulfil this role as well as the Sunday School Leader position (4 hours/week).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Satisfactory criminal reference check (including vulnerable sector) completed within last 3 months.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license and use of car.
    Job Type: Part-Time Hourly
    Wage: $22.00-26.00 per hour

Responsibilities

3. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

  • Maintain accurate records of Community Engagement activities and events.
  • Maintain a volunteer database, track volunteer hours, provide feedback and ensure appropriate recognition is conducted for volunteers regularly and/or at a minimum on an annual basis.
  • Implement and document screening procedures (police checks) for volunteers
  • Prepare reports for church leadership on community engagement and volunteer participation.
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
