Description

QUALITY MEAT SCOTLAND

Are you passionate about working with Scotland’s wider communities to share learning about our red meat supply chain? Do you have experience working within agriculture, communications or community engagement? If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions, then Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) has the perfect role for you!
QMS is the public body here for Scotland’s red meat sector. We work with people across the Scottish red meat supply chain to deliver and promote our authentic, trusted brands, built on quality assurance; foster innovation and develop key markets to drive productivity and profitability; and build Scotland’s global reputation as THE choice for premium red meat.
We have an exciting opportunity within our Communications & External Affairs department for a Community Engagement Coordinator, who will assist our Reputation Manager to coordinate QMS’s outreach work with schools, higher education institutions, sports and other community organisations, as well as work closely with partners such as the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) to deliver exciting and educational events for people throughout Scotland. The post-holder will also lead on QMS’s community engagement initiatives such as the Meat Voucher Scheme, be involved in the planning and delivery of educational sessions by our team of QMS Scotch Ambassadors, right across Scotland, and work closely with Scotland’s professional rugby teams to deliver our community engagement partnerships.
As our Community Engagement Coordinator at QMS, no two working days will be the same. One day you could be working organising a class nutrition session and cookery demonstration as part of Lamb for St Andrew’s Day, and another you could be supporting a farm visit with RHET. You will be supported in the role by our Communications & External Affairs department, as well as other members of the wider QMS team.
This role is a permanent and full-time position, however, we are focused on getting the right candidate, so flexible working patterns could be considered. This is a field-based role, requiring travel to support various community engagement sessions and events across Scotland accordingly. Travel to monthly all staff meetings at our main office on the outskirts of Edinburgh will also be required.
We offer a comprehensive remuneration and reward package, including a competitive salary, 25 days holidays plus statutory holidays, and 10% employer pension contribution.
