Description

The Conference Board of Canada (CBoC) is the nation’s largest independent applied research organization offering unbiased, evidence-based information and analysis to both industry, NGOs and federal/provincial governments. We have one of the country’s largest private economic analysis and forecasting teams and are widely recognized for expert economic forecasting, modeling, and leading analysis. CBoC undertakes research to address the most pressing issues in Economics, Innovation and Technology, Human Capital, Sustainability, Immigration, Indigenous and Northern Communities, Education and Skills, and Health. Our social science research provides actionable pathways to solutions. Simply put, we deliver insights that help Canada’s leaders cut through the noise and make informed decisions.
We are seeking a strategic, relationship-oriented Community Engagement Manager to join the Strategy & Operations team., to lead and execute a pan-Canadian membership growth and engagement strategy for our Executive Councils. Our Councils are peer-to-peer forums that convene senior leaders across Canada to explore the issues most relevant to their roles.
This role is central to deepening member connection, enhancing the Council experience, and growing our community in meaningful ways.

MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY AND EXPERIENCE DESIGN

  • Develop and implement a Council-wide engagement strategy focused on member experience, satisfaction, and long-term connection.
  • Define member segments, map engagement journeys, and tailor strategies to the unique dynamics of each Council.
  • Continuously measure impact using KPIs, analytics, and member feedback—refining tactics as needed.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field; MBA or equivalent an asset.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years in community engagement, marketing, member/customer experience, or program development—preferably in a not-for-profit or membership-based organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engagement strategies, segment audiences, and use data to shape decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on integrated campaigns and engagement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, brand storytelling, and CRM-driven outreach.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, including ability to engage executive-level audiences.
  • Proficiency in audience segmentation, journey mapping, and data-informed planning.
  • Strategic thinker with strong project management skills and a track record of execution.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for community-building and member value.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

The hiring zone for this position is $67,320 - $79,200 annually for candidates from any Canadian province or territory. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, specific skillsets, as well as market and business considerations. The full compensation band for this position ranges from $67,320 - $91,080. The recruiter can share more information about compensation for the position during the hiring process.
