Recreational Respite is a national organization providing one-to-one in-person support across Canada (excluding Quebec and the Northern Territories). The Role: Community Engagement Provider (CEP) As a Community Engagement Provider, you are a vital part of our team—the hands-on support for our clients in their homes and communities. CEPs work directly with individuals to help them achieve their goals, improve quality of life, and access opportunities for growth and connection.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED FIELDS OF STUDY):

  • Recreation Therapy / Recreation & Leisure Services
  • Early Childhood Education or Educational Assistance
  • Child and Youth Work
  • Social Service Work or Social Work
  • Developmental Service Work
  • Disability Studies
  • Psychology / Counselling
  • Or another Human/Health Services program

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and ability to work independently.
  • Accurate and professional documentation skills.
  • Critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative spirit.
  • Advanced computer and email proficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Standard and/or Emergency First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months).
  • Reliable transportation (required).

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide one-on-one support to clients at home and in the community.
  • Assess needs, abilities, strengths, and interests to adapt individualized programming.
  • Collaborate with families and caregivers to ensure continuity of support.
  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Apply evidence-based strategies to support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with the team via email and virtual platforms.

ROLE DETAILS

  • This is an Independent Contractor position.
  • Hours are flexible and based on the clients you choose to support.
    Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
    Pay: From $26.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 3 – 15 per week
