The Community Fundraiser will be responsible for generating, growing and maintaining local engagement and will frequently be the face of the Charity. Providing a friendly, inspiring and responsive service to donors, fundraisers and other supporters. The role also involves raising vital funds, creating engaging communications and content align with ROCs strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will be confident, driven and work well under pressure. Have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated. Be able to meet deadlines and establish new fundraising ideas in an ever changing and challenging charity environment.
The post holder will require an understanding of fundraising and have considerable energy and enthusiasm to inspire the community, patients, and visitors to choose ROC as their preferred charity.
Alongside this they will be able to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders and have comprehensive organisational skills to deliver against their KPIs.

PLANNING AND ORGANISATION:
Event management and coordinating activities for charity events will play a part in this role and a reasonable amount of planning is required. This will involve close management of budgets, good logistical management skills, and an ability to work with a variety of individuals effectively.
Ensuring appropriate co-ordination across different fundraising activities and delivering agreed income targets.
The post holder may be required to support the Grants and Trust consultant with community research to aid the completion of funding applications.
The post holder may be required to support/cover for the Fundraising/ Charity Manager at corporate presentations to gain key Charity support within the business community.
Distributing promotional materials out in the community with regular and prompt follow up conversations.
To develop a plan for local corporate fundraising and to build new and maintain existing relationships with local companies.
The post holder will be required to write details of community initiatives with the team to be added to the Charity website and social media channels.
To assist in the development and implementation of procedures and guidelines related to charity.
This role will also develop a strong ROH presence at external events such as the Great Birmingham Run, organising related activities and providing expertise in recruiting participants and supporting them.
There will be a need to create both online and printed materials to support fundraising activities. The post holder will need to order and manage a variety of printed information in support of fundraising
To assist in the preparation, planning and execution of smaller appeals, setting budgets and agreeing income streams through communication with the appropriate ward or department.
Responsible for handling donations from a variety of sources (for all payment types) as and when required in line with Trust policy. Ensuring appropriate processing and entering of donations onto the fundraising database.

Work independently and as part of a team, seeking clarification from management only when necessary.
The post holder is unlikely to have many occasions when they are exposed to emotional circumstances, but it is worth being aware of patients’ circumstances and experiences when talking to them.
