Job Description Permanent Full Time $83,714 per annum plus superannuation Join the Community Health & Wellbeing team Hume City Council is one of Australia’s fastest growing and culturally diverse councils. The Community Grants Officer will provide high level administrative support to facilitate the effective delivery of Hume City Council’s Grants Programs and contribute to building community capacity, supporting the development and successful implementation of community programs and initiatives. What you’ll be doing: Manage the SmartyGrants software and process including the annual development of the ‘Online Application’ & ‘Assessment’ forms. Coordinate the community sessions and capacity building initiatives undertaken to support the grants process, including event logistics. Manage the phone & email communication between Council and the community in relation to the Grants process. Coordinate the administrative functions of the Community Grant information sessions, Online Application Training and Community Support Sessions. Assist in the preparation of promotional material, manuals, invitations, letters, draft press releases and advertisements and on-line resources. Assist in identifying and promoting training and community development opportunities available through Council to improve the capacity of community groups and organisations to sustain their ongoing development. Identify and assist with ongoing quality improvements to enhance the operation and responsiveness of Council’s Community Grants Program to community needs. The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role: Expertise in using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience in various Council software applications including Finance One, InfoCouncil, Trim and SmartyGrants is highly desirable Skills in managing time and setting priorities and organising own work to deliver a successful Community Grants Program. Ability to set and achieve goals and objectives. Sound written and verbal communication skills, Skills in relationship building including the ability to gain co-operation and assistance from internal and external customers from broad and diverse backgrounds. Required Certifications & Qualifications (If required) Certificate in Administration or equivalent or relevant experience in administrative work, or work related to grants administration or community development.
