Description

PURPOSE OF JOB: Provides primary healthcare, within given limits of level of training, standing orders, and scope of practice including preventive, acute and emergency care to residents of an assigned village within the Bristol Bay region. We have two, open part-time positions. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate or equivalent. 2. Achieves a score on the standardized Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) Level D, indicating eighth grade level competence in applied math, math computation, and reading. 3. Must have basic computer skills. 4. Prefer ability to speak local native language. 5. Dependable and maintains confidentiality. 6. Resides in assigned community or sub region. 7. Able to leave the home community for periods of 1 to 6 weeks or more for training. 8. Able to provide year-round coverage of clinic hours. 9. If assigned to a specific village, recommended by the Traditional Village Council of the assigned village. 10. Must successfully pass the pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. 11. If authorized to driver a community vehicle, must have a current, insurable drivers license. 12. Must receive all immunization and successfully complete all testing required for attending Session license. 13. Must be able to meet all physical requirements of Session Training including travel by air, extended time away from home, and full participation in activities including blood draws, injections, and IV's both as a caregiver in training and as a subject. 14. Must work in other village clinics for limited times. 15. Must be available for ETT training, Pre-session, Session I training and other training and meetings as directed by BBAHC.

Responsibilities

Provide primary, preventive, acute, and emergency healthcare to residents within an assigned village in the Bristol Bay region. Maintain clinic hours and participate in required medical training and certifications.
