Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages.
Community Health Navigators (CHNs) are frontline public health workers, typically sharing roots with the community in which they serve as a liaison/link/intermediary between health/social services and the community by providing a range of activities such as outreach, community education, informal counseling, social support and advocacy to facilitate access to services that build individual and community capacity and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• One year of experience working as a Community Health Worker, Peer Recovery Coach or Specialist, Care Coordinator, Health Navigator, Community Based Prevention Specialist, Outreach Worker, or Case Manager.
• Personal or family lived experience with navigating the healthcare system due to a physical and/or behavioral health condition is preferred and willingness to share such with others.
• Knowledge of the resources, support, and services available in Wayne County, preferred.
