Additional premiums include a $9,000 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4,500 per year. Staff at the Department of Health work to improve the health and well-being of Nunavummiut by addressing the differing needs of each community through culturally appropriate programs and services.   Reporting to the Supervisor, Health Programs, the Community Health Nurse (CHN) assists clients in promotion, protection and restoration of health, to educate about, prevent and reduce the incidence of disease, disability and death.  The incumbent provides a comprehensive community health service in conjunction with the health care team and works within the context of Primary Health care to improve the capacity of clients to adapt to, respond to or control, life’s challenges, and changes.
Responsibilities
The Community Health Nurse provides comprehensive primary health care services to promote, protect, and restore the health of clients. They work within a healthcare team to educate the community and reduce the incidence of disease and disability.
