UPMC is hiring a Full-Time, Community Health Tech, Paramedic to support the York region.
Looking to add an experienced team member that has previous experience working within the community!
This is a very close-knit team that works extremely well together and is passionate about delivering top-notch care to patients.
This position does offer some flexibility with schedule and does not require holiday, weekend or evening hours.
In this position, you will be traveling throughout the community to complete home visits.

THIS POSITION QUALIFIES FOR A $5000.00 SIGN-ON BONUS WITH 2-YEAR WORK COMMITMENT!

Purpose:
The Community Paramedic is responsible for staffing the daily operations of the Community Paramedicine Program as directed by the Community Health RN Director. Will perform home visits as directed and assist with program development as required. The Paramedic fulfills education and experiential requirements as established by the Medical Director, and performs other duties as assigned. Supports and upholds the mission, goals, and objectives, of the UPMC system at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Carries out home visits with patients as directed.
  • Contacts Community Health Manager and/or Medical Director with any concerns observed in the field.
  • Completes documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Participates in scheduled and unscheduled outreach activities, representing the UPMC system.
  • When on duty, dresses in a manner consistent with the established uniform policy.
  • Completes assigned duties with the highest degree of responsibility and professionalism.
  • Ensures that all CP equipment and vehicles are clean and restocked in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in quality assurance audits as may be required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish a rapport with patients; including the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship; regardless of circumstances, environment, or patient presentation.
  • Performs duties according to CP policies and procedures.
  • Assists with any additional duties as requested.
  • Maintains all required continuing education in accordance with UPMC, Life Team and State requirements based on level of certification.
  • Paramedic required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in public health, EMS, health screenings or other health related field + current or previous licensure.
  • Proficient in MS Word/Excel.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management, EMTs/paramedics, and program participants.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work early morning hours and weekend hours as necessary.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Previous or current Paramedic certification required.
  • Driver’s License RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
