Description

Deputise for Clinical Nurse Specialist as required in times of absence. Be responsible for looking after an allocated group of patients each day. Through practice, role modelling, teaching, and mentorship, provide staff support and training, to enhance the teams own development. Carry out regular 1 to 1s and individual performance review process (annual and mid-year reviews) for direct reports and complete personal development plans.
Be competent to work alone with patients and their families in the home environment, under the guidance of the Clinical Nurse Specialist. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including the daily management of patients. Supporting those patients allocated from day to day in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team and wider system partners and under the guidance of the Clinical Nurse Specialist. Ability to work autonomously with designated patients alongside a degree of flexibility due to the unpredictable nature of the role.
Demonstrating and applying a knowledge of the options for achieving control of symptoms in liaison with other health care professionals. Act as a skilled educator who is able to advise patients, families and multi-professional colleagues appropriately under the guidance of the Clinical Nurse Specialist and wider MDT. Act as clinical supervisor for designated clinical staff. Participate in the orientation / mentorship of new staff and volunteers under guidance of the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Maintain quality in own work and contribute to the development of other Understand and comply with all Rennie Grove Peace policies and procedures. Maintain required organisational standards for all mandatory training. Keep up to date with current legislation and any further professional training, relevant to role. Demonstrate ongoing personal and professional development in accordance with annual Individual Progress Review (IPR) system.
