The American Heart Association is seeking a passionate and driven Community Impact Manager to join our team in Las Vegas, Nevada. This field-based role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in rural communities across the state. The Manager will lead the implementation of health impact goals in Nevada’s rural and frontier areas with an emphasis on high blood pressure, nutrition security, CPR/AED education, tobacco/vaping prevention, and women’s health.
Under the guidance of the Community Impact Director, the Community Impact Manager will lead outreach and planning efforts for clinical and community-based organizations as part of the Community-Level Systems of Care in Rural Nevada project. This includes organizing quarterly workshops, fostering strategic collaborations, and driving Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) change initiatives.
This is a full time, benefits eligible, grant-funded opportunity. Current funding will expire on June 30, 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in community health, public health, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills across modalities (in-person, email, phone.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including overnight stays and long-distance driving.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Experience working with multicultural and rural communities.
  • Knowledge of the social determinants of health (SDOH), especially in relation to behavior modification through self-care and policy/system-wide changes.
  • Familiarity with local health systems and existing relationships with hospitals, health clinics, and FQHCs.
  • A university or college degree.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the outreach lead for rural engagement, supported by the Community Impact Director.
  • Analyze community health assessments, county health rankings, and public health data to inform outreach strategies.
  • Identify and engage Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), rural clinics, and critical access hospitals.
  • Collaborate with community-based and clinical organizations (e.g., libraries, senior centers, faith-based groups) to host quarterly workshops.
  • Promote and implement American Heart Association wellness initiatives throughout rural Nevada.
  • Manage subgrant awards to community and healthcare organizations.
  • Track and report on program planning, health education activities, and outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with local and national American Heart Association staff to develop resources, evaluate impact, and fulfill funder requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records using American Heart Association systems.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and operational standards and policies.
