POSITION SUMMARY:

SafeSpot Overdose Hotline is seeking a highly motivated and mission-driven Community Implementation Specialist to play a critical role in expanding our reach, recruiting a diverse workforce, and completing SafeSpot’s accreditation with the International Council for Helplines. This position is ideal for a professional with strong communication skills, a passion for harm reduction, and experience in community engagement.
The Community Implementation Specialist will be responsible for growing SafeSpot’s presence in new and existing regions, building partnerships with key stakeholders, supporting recruitment efforts, assisting with accreditation tasks, and representing SafeSpot at events. The Specialist will also provide operational support to the Hotline Director, Operations Coordinator, and Safety Coordinator, and take hotline calls during surges when needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree Required

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Masters (MPH) preferred
• Trained hotline operator at SafeSpot
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, public health, or workforce development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Strong understanding of harm reduction principles and experience working with individuals affected by substance use.
• Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to travel regionally (up to 20%) and take on occasional evening/weekend responsibilities.
