KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Projects and job tasks are to include but are not limited to, working in inclement weather, heavy lifting over 50 lbs., home trash pickup, flower planting, laying of sod, fertilizing, chemical applications, planting trees and shrubs, landscape construction, irrigation maintenance, storm cleanup, shop cleanup, equipment maintenance, documentation, street cleaning, pond maintenance, holiday decorating, working from heights. Check high-priority areas daily for debris, blowing needs, weeds, or anything unsightly or out of place. Fully fuel up all equipment at the end of each workday. Before operating equipment, check for safety, fuel, oil level, tire air pressure, and any other fine-tuning before use. Daily activities may consist of mowing with various types of mowers including zero-turn and push mowers. Use of string trimmers, edges, blowers, and chainsaws, among a large variety of maintenance tools. Properly applicate fertilizers, pesticides, and chemicals. Complete work in a timely, fine-tuned manner. Leave job sites are to be left in a normal, safe, and clean status. High-quality service is always expected. Assist and contribute regularly on projects, at any moment, in any area, as deemed necessary by the department manager or assistant manager. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent desired. Previous landscape experience highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must.
