Description
At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters. The Position Reporting directly to the General Manager, as the Community Lead, Commercialisation Strategy, you serve as a pivotal member of the Enabling Team, acting as a "Leader of Leaders" who architects high-level strategy and empowers our community of experts. Your purpose is to architect the future of our healthcare presence, fostering a High-Performing Organisation (HPO) where visionary strategy meets rapid, agile execution. This is a senior leadership role designed for a strategist who thrives in ambiguity and values shared accountability. You will lead our Marketing Enablement and Squad functions, balancing global strategic alignment with the intricate needs of the Australian market. By embracing the VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) leadership model, you will unshackle our networks, remove roadblocks, and empower our squads to deliver "Triple Win" outcomes—creating simultaneous value for patients, the healthcare ecosystem, and Roche. What you will be working on: In this strategic role, you will pivot between long-term system shaping and immediate impact to deliver therapeutic area outcomes. You will be responsible for, but may not be limited to: Organisational Leadership: Join the Enabling Team to collectively own all affiliate outcomes, establishing the strategic north star for the entire organisation. Strategy Orchestration: Create and evolve Therapeutic Area Strategies that deliver better outcomes for more patients faster. Leading the Leaders: Directly lead and coach the Marketing Enablement, Squad Coordinators, and Squad Lead functions, mentoring those who lead our product portfolios. Ecosystem Shaping: Partner with healthcare industry stakeholders and government bodies to advance shared objectives and embed Roche’s value proposition. Triple Win Outcomes: Drive commercial efforts that ensure a "Triple Win"—maximising value for patients, the broader healthcare system, and Roche. Agile Architecture: Design and optimise the assigned Community’s structure to ensure it is lean, responsive, and fit for purpose. Global & Regional Synergy: Navigate and contribute to APAC and global networks, facilitating strategic alignment and resource sharing. Strategic Resource Allocation: Drive enterprise-wide thinking to allocate resources where they will have the greatest impact on our portfolio’s potential. Customer-Centric Co-Creation: Ensure the "voice of the customer" (internal and external) is at the heart of our solutions through reliable partnerships. Cultural Guardianship: Act as an ambassador for our High-Performing Organisation (HPO) culture, shifting from an "organisation talking" to an "organisation doing." Portfolio Ambition: Partner with the Customer Engagement Community Lead to co-develop ambitious TA commercial goals and monitor performance via insights. Ethical Excellence: Lead by example in compliance, ensuring all activities meet Roche, TGA, and Medicines Australia ethical standards. Who you are: Systems Thinker: You are a systems thinker who can see the integration between all parts of the healthcare system and understand how local shifts impact global strategies. Strategic Visionary: You possess deep business acumen and the ability to formulate strategies in complex environments without a pre-set playbook. Commercial Subject Matter Expert: You bring significant experience in pharmaceutical marketing, lifecycle management, and product commercialisation. Australian healthcare market knowledge is key. Collaborative Architect: You prioritise "we" before "me", demonstrating a mindset of shared accountability across all Communities. Agile Catalyst: You are an expert in agile methodologies, capable of removing roadblocks and encouraging smart risk-taking and rapid learning. Ambiguity Navigator: You are comfortable in high-pressure, evolving environments and can stay focused on the long-term impact of strategic decisions. Influencer Without Borders: You can influence and negotiate across complex, matrixed regional and global networks to secure alignment. Growth Mindset Champion: You foster a culture of continuous learning, identifying key talent and accelerating their development through active coaching. Market Access Savvy: You have a broad strategic understanding of the Australian regulatory and reimbursement (HTA) environment. Academic & Professional Foundation: You are a university graduate in science, pharmacy, medicine, or a related field with demonstrated leadership experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry. This Sydney-based role is open to candidates who have full eligibility to live and work in Australia. We do not accept any unsolicited resumes or enquiries from recruitment agencies. Roche has a dedicated in-house Talent Acquisition team. What we offer Roche offers rewarding growth opportunities, a competitive remuneration package and a collaborative culture where people are united in purpose and will stretch you to be brave, speak up and think differently. We strive for excellence and extraordinary results and take a genuine interest in our people and their well-being, and our patients. Take pride in knowing you can make a difference to millions of patients worldwide in developing diagnostics and treatments for oncology, neuroscience, inflammation, immunology, ophthalmology, rare diseases, respiratory disease and diabetes.
