JOB OVERVIEW

Lakeshore School Division is looking for a Term Community Learning Co-ordinator to support students in a flexible learning environment at Lundar School. This role involves providing mentorship, guidance, and support to a small group of students in an alternative classroom settling. The position also includes being a liaison between the home and school. Qualifications & Skills * Post Secondary education in the social services field. This may include a certificate, diploma, or degree. * Ideally experience working with vulnerable youth (children with physical, cognitive and / or behavior challenges), providing appropriate strategies to support physical, social, behavioural and educational needs of the student * Manage conflict in a calm, assertive and respectful manner * Comfortable supporting teachers in hands-on learning activities * Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle * Training in WEVAS or NVCI (or willingness to obtain) is an asset * Experience with planning and coordinating community events is preferred
SHIFT: 6.5 hours per day
SALARY: Based on education and experience
