WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Are you passionate about sharing your knowledge of gardening and horticulture with adults in your community? Do you have the confidence and empathy to deliver engaging, hands-on courses in welcoming, inclusive environments?
We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Gardening/Horticulture tutor to join our dynamic Adult & Community Learning team. You will deliver short courses that help adults build confidence, gain practical skills, and take steps towards work, volunteering, or further learning.
This role is ideal for a qualified tutor with a background in horticulture, gardening, or environmental education—especially someone who understands how to work flexibly and sensitively with adults from a wide range of backgrounds.

  • Deliver short gardening/horticulture courses (for example, Introduction to gardening, community gardening etc) in community venues across Bristol
  • Tailor lessons to meet learner needs, using accessible, trauma-informed approaches
  • Embed inclusive practice, digital tools and good safeguarding awareness into your teaching
  • Promote progression—supporting learners to take further steps in learning, volunteering or employment
  • Set clear expectations, model practical skills, and create a safe space for learners to ask questions and practice
  • Work closely with development workers, support staff and partner organisation
