Expand Project-Community Liaison
.40 FTE Contract (June 2025 to December 2025)
Thunder Bay Site
One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a .40 FTE contract Community Liaison for The Expand Project (June 2025-December 2025) as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team. The Expand Project is starting and expanding conversations around commercial and traditional uses of tobacco amongst 2SLGBTQIA+ young adults between ages 18-29. The focus will be on promoting The Expand Project during the pilot phase of the project and recruiting and leading advisory members to help with community engagement and outreach strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some post-secondary education (preferred).
  • At least two years of experience in similar work, or combined work experience and training.
  • Related experience working with queer and trans young adults.
  • Preference to those who identify as members of queer and trans communities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an inter-professional team.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to socio-economic and cultural issues.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured).
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and ability to travel to other service locations.
