Description Make a difference working with the Veteran population, providing ICU coverage at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Details: Contract: 6/1/2026 - 5/31/2027 - option to extend if desired Hours: Varying shifts times. Mostly 12 hour, with some 8 and 10 hour options. Facility open 24/7 $60 per hour W-2 Full benefits (medical/dental/vision/401k) Various site locations Community Living Center Inpatient (CLC): CLC Short Stay Skilled inpatient is designed to provide short-term, post-acute skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to patients who require intensive clinical care and therapy following hospitalization, surgery, or acute illness. The CLC provides Veterans with a homelike setting with private or semi-private rooms, therapy gyms, and adaptive equipment. This model emphasizes rehabilitation, recovery, and safe transition to home or community setting, rather than long-term custodial care. Patients are medically stable but require skilled nursing interventions, intensive rehabilitation therapies, monitoring and support for chronic conditions during recovery. Core services include: 24/7 Skilled Nursing Care: Medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, pain management. • Rehabilitation Therapies: Physical, occupational, and speech therapy integrated into daily routines. • Interdisciplinary Care Planning: Regular team meetings to review progress and adjust care plans. • Discharge Planning: Coordination with outpatient services, home health, and community resources. RNs assigned to work in the CLC will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, drawing labs, central and peripheral line IV medications, tube feedings, foley catheters, wound care, trach care, assistance with activities of daily living, interdisciplinary team coordination, admissions, discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures. All RNs assigned to CLC inpatient under this contract will be required to float between units based on staffing needs. Requirements BSN OH nursing licensure or compact multi-state license Minimum of 2 years direct patient experience, within the last 3 years VA experience desirable, but not required BLS, ACLS
Responsibilities
The RN will provide skilled nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy, to Veterans in an inpatient setting. They are also responsible for interdisciplinary team coordination, patient assessments, and maintaining electronic medical records.
