Description
About Mercor Mercor is training models that predict how well someone will perform on a job better than a human can. We use our platform to source, vet, and onboard expert contractors who help train AI models in a wide variety of domains. Our technology is so effective it’s used by all of the top 5 AI labs. We scaled from $1–500M in revenue run rate in the last 17 months, making us the fastest-growing company in the world. Our growth is accelerating: we averaged 11% week-over-week growth in July, 18% in August, and 19% in September. The team is small, we remain profitable, and we can’t hire exceptional people as quickly as revenue is growing. About the Role We’re looking for a Community Manager to design, launch, and scale Mercor’s community worldwide. You’ll build an integrated IRL + online events program that spans networking events, hackathons, and large-scale summits. This role is highly cross-functional and external-facing, ideal for a builder who thrives at the intersection of operations, community, and high-caliber experiences. What You’ll Do Manage strategy, budgets, timelines, venues, vendors/AV, run-of-show, contingency plans, and post-mortems. Develop formats for different expert segments (ex. clinicians, AI researchers, legal specialists). Build playbooks, host kits, and an ambassador program to empower experts and referrers to run Mercor-branded meetups. Run marketing campaigns across landing pages, email/SMS, social, partnerships, and press to fill rooms with the right audience. Recruit speakers, moderate sessions, and turn events into highlight reels, quotes, and case studies. Work with Product & Engineering on demos and launches, and with Events & Ops on logistics. Build relationships with universities, professional societies, conferences, and labs for co-hosted programming. About You Experienced in running complex, large-scale events with strong attention to detail. High EQ, excellent communicator, comfortable both on stage and in one-to-one settings. Familiar with technology environments and up-to-date on AI trends. Hands-on with campaign planning, social media, and brand consistency. Define success metrics, track results, and iterate with data. Built something from zero (company, club, conference, creator community). Bachelor’s degree preferred — Business, Economics, Marketing, or similar. Bonus Points Experience engaging professional audiences like physicians, lawyers, researchers, or senior engineers. Comfortable on stage or camera. Familiarity with Airtable/Sheets, Notion, Figma, Eventbrite/Luma/Splash, HubSpot/Marketo. An existing online or IRL audience. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $90–110K Quarterly performance bonus Generous equity grant vested over 4 years Comprehensive benefits package $20K relocation bonus (if moving to the Bay Area) $10K housing bonus (if you live within 0.5 miles of our office) $1K monthly meal stipend Free Equinox membership Health insurance
