We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Katoomba Mental Health Team!
In this role, you will provide nursing care and comprehensive mental health services to individuals with mental illness or disorders. Your approach will be least intrusive, collaborative, recovery-oriented, and inclusive of nominated carers and families. You will use evidence-based, rehabilitative practices that promote self-advocacy, empower individuals, and support their capacity for optimal independent functioning.

Responsibilities
  • Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) - Completion of New Graduate Program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated skills in mental health and mental health nursing assessments and interventions and experience working with people with mental illness.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Computer competence and literacy.
  • Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
