ABOUT THE ROLE

• Co-ordinate crisis assessment and intervention, medication monitoring, counselling, psycho-education, liaison with carers and other service providers.
• Maintaining a close working relationship with the Mental Health Professionals working within the St Vincent’s Hospital Emergency Department, Safe Assessment Space (SAS), Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) and the mental health unit, Homeless Health Assertive Outreach team, crisis accommodation, NGO’s and other community support services is essential.
• Monitor, manage and escalate appropriately any change in mental state and risk status.
• Provision of consumer advocacy, ensuring individual needs, issues and concerns are appropriately addressed.
