NHS Fife Older Adult Community Mental Health Services
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team East Fife, and we would like to welcome applications from highly motivated individuals, with a background in working with older adults with mental illness, to join us as a community health care support worker.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of, and experience in, dealing with issues relating to the health and wellbeing of older adults with mental illness. They will be able to engage with patients to help work on their recovery and personal outcomes.
We are seeking a confident individual who has the skills to deal with challenging situations, on their own, in patient’s homes across East Fife, and who demonstrate an appreciation of the diversity of the workload. You will hold your own caseload and support the community mental health nurses, who will offer direction for you to support them in delivering programmes of care.
The postholder will demonstrate good awareness of local services and resources for optimising care provision. They must have a proactive, positive approach, good communication skills and have the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team, to maintain high standards of quality of care.
There is a need to use IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Morse
Successful applicants will receive a full induction, and supervision, and there will be an expectation that staff will either have, or work towards, SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.
