Description for Internal Candidates     Community Neighbourhoods Senior Officer - Manor Park  £41,133 - £43,680 per annum Maternity Cover) -  12 months Fixed Term  position, based at Manor Park Library   The Community Neighbourhood Senior Officer is a critical role supporting with the delivery of community based activities in a designated geographical area of Newham, that include; library and community centre based activities, community engagement activities, democracy and civil participation programmes, resident budget participatory programmes, delivery of joint public health programmes and initiatives, implementation of the social integration and volunteering action plan, maintain positive working relationship with local voluntary, community and faith sector organisations and support colleagues in community and youth safety services to deliver positive outcomes for Newham residents You will have a good understanding of community engagement and development and experience of working with community groups and local residents within this capacity. Additionally, you will have excellent project planning skills. No two days will be the same, so you must be able to think on your feet, priorities your workload and thrive in a busy environment. The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east.  It is well connected  by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London. The London City Airport which serves major European cities is located at Royal Albert Dock. Newham has the youngest overall population in the country. It was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the London Stadium. It has a thriving arts quarter with the Theatre Royal Stratford East offering excellent entertainment for all the family. There is the University of East London which has two campuses in Newham, one in Stratford and another next to the regenerated Royal Albert Dock. It also has a large Westfield shopping Centre in Stratford which has all the major retailers there.
Responsibilities
This critical role supports the delivery of community-based activities within a designated area of Newham, including library and community center programs, engagement activities, and participation initiatives. The officer will also implement social integration plans and maintain relationships with local voluntary and faith sector organizations.
