This competition will be used to establish an eligibility list to fill current and future regular/full-time, regular/part-time and casual Licensed Practical Nurse positions, subject to staffing approval.

As part of Community Service and Supports (CSS) Division, Community Nurse Consultant Service (CNCS) provides adults living with an intellectual disability residing in community, and their support network, access to professional nurses who specialize in assessment, health care plan development and assistance in navigating the health system.
CNCS will provide education and training delegation for individuals supported by Community Living disability Services (CLDS) as well as their service providers or support network.
CNCS facilitates assessments for Manitoba Supports for persons with Disabilities (MSPD) in their role as disability assistance adjudicators.
Disability assistance Adjudicators are responsible to review disability impact assessments, supporting documentation, and results from functional assessments, and use their clinical judgement to provide a recommendation for eligibility to MSPD.

The Licensed Practical Nurse works within an interdisciplinary team service model and applies the professional nursing process to deliver clinical nursing care interventions, including both mental health status and physical assessments, to adults with an intellectual disability who often have dual diagnoses. The incumbent functions under the Licensed Practical Nurses Act in accordance with the framework of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba.
