GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position on the staff of Senior Connection Center, Inc. (SCC). This position is responsible for conducting outreach activities and representing SCC at outreach events throughout the Agency’s five-county service area, as well as implementing health and wellness classes and activities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

-Minimum education and related experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or
  • Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of experience; or
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent and four (4) years of experience

-Successful completion of applicable background screening required
-Any exceptions to the minimum requirements must be approved by the President and CEO.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

-Ability to communicate well, orally and in writing.
-Ability to organize tasks effectively, meet deadlines and set priorities.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
-Basic skill and knowledge of MS Office Suite including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database creation and maintenance in either Excel or Access.
-Ability to address groups and represent the Agency at meetings, forums, boards or other committee assignments.
-Ability to facilitate and/or teach workshops in-person and remotely.

Pay: $20.09 per hour

Responsibilities

-Assists the Health and Wellness Coordinator in coordinating, scheduling and facilitating/teaching evidence-based health and wellness classes.
-Identifies and recruits appropriate, potential lay leaders.
-Maintains adequate documentation and data for reporting, evaluation, and monitoring purposes.

-Assists in implementing the Agency’s outreach activities:

  • Provides pre-approved information to older adults and their caregivers through door-to-door canvasing, at community outreach events, and at SCC sponsored events.
  • Obtains and maintains documentation of outreach contract deliverables and submits outreach reports in a timely manner.
  • Collects and accurately enters outreach event information using the appropriate databases and/or systems.
  • Attends community meetings and outreach events on behalf of the Agency.

-Performs other related duties as required.
