Description:
The Community Outreach Coordinator will report to the Head of Community Engagement and will work within the wider Community and Communications team, providing internal and external communications, community engagement and educational services within Wessex Water.
We’re looking for an engaging and effective community outreach coordinator to deliver regional drop-ins for our customers and liaise with local communities across the Wiltshire, Bristol and Bath areas.
This role is four days a week (FTE 0.8) and home-based with a requirement for a minimum of one day a month at our head office in Bath.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You will have experience working with colleagues across a range of disciplines within a large organisation and experience in dealing with local voluntary and statutory community organisations.
In this role, we are looking for:
- experience in customer support and community engagement or public relations
- proven experience in face-to-face engagement with customers
- experience working with colleagues across a range of disciplines
- experience in dealing with local voluntary and statutory community organisations
- excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills
- a high level of customer service focus
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Teams, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will:
- provide confident customer support and engagement face-to-face
- follow up with customer enquiries on a range of topics including bills
- resolve queries that arise from customer enquiries
- perform the local networking and promotion of the drop-in sessions
- carry out training, development and project admin
- provide other support to your team as required
- report on customer engagements, processing invoices and creating reports.
This role requires regular weekly driving to appointments, so you will need to drive across the Wessex Water region and have a valid UK driving licence.
It will also require some weekend and out-of-hours work. You will be provided with a car allowance for this role.
