Description Position Title: Community Participation Supports Associate Director Department: Community Participation Supports Reports to: Director FLSA Status: Exempt Telework Eligible: No POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for the overall supervision of individuals served, Supervisors, and Instructors. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable state regulations and for establishing, implementing, and monitoring individualized program plans for all individuals served. Responsibilities include conducting periodic assessments, evaluating program effectiveness, and preparing required reports. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide a supportive, caring, safe environment by attending to individual needs, respecting differences, and supporting growth and independence. 2. Training and supervision of personnel. 3. Assist in the referral process (intake, assessment, and transfer) and supervising referrals from the program for which individual has responsibility. 4. May be required to function as Program Specialist according to 55 PA Code § 2380 regulations. 5. If functioning as Program Specialist, review program participant’s program plans with Supports Coordinators on a regular basis and coordinate program participants’ programmatic supportive services. 6. Preparation of required or requested reports. 7. Responsible to ensure that all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to and conduct internal licensing inspections. 8. Supervise Instructors, including monitoring performance, new staff training and completion of Performance Evaluations. 9. Assist with payroll review. 10. Knowledge of emergency procedures. 11. Responsible for maintaining program participant equipment in programs for which individual has responsibility. 12. Coordinate regular staff meetings to facilitate communication and consistency of program objectives. 13. Disseminate all inter-agency correspondence, memos, and telephone communications to all assigned Instructors. 14. Attend meetings as required. 15. Completed a minimum of 24 hours of required training per training year, including mandatory and role-specific training. 16. Regular attendance at work. 17. Other duties as assigned. 18. May be required to function as direct support on occasion to ensure ratios are met. While functioning as direct support may be required to provide personal care such as feeding, assisting in restroom, or ensuring individuals are engaged in meaningful activities." Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, psychology, or a related human services field; or a minimum of 60 college credits; or at least three years of relevant experience. 2. Ability to effectively work with and relate to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism. 3. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 5. Excellent organizational skills. 6. Experience in the design and implementation of comprehensive, individualized program plans. 7. Valid Pennsylvania driver's license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Lifting: Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds independently, and potentially more with assistance when transferring a program participant (e.g., from a bed to a wheelchair or into a tub). • Mobility and Movement: This role demands a high degree of physical activity to support program participants in daily living activities and within the community. Required physical actions include but are not limited to: - Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and kneeling - Standing and walking for extended periods - Pushing and pulling against resistance - Reaching, often overhead and to ground level - Ascending/descending stairs and ramps - Assisting with transfers (e.g., in and out of vehicles, beds, or baths) • Personal Care Assistance: The ability to physically assist with personal hygiene and daily living needs, which may involve exposure to bodily fluids, is a necessary part of the job. WORK ENVIRONMENT Associate Director work in dynamic environments that adapt to the needs of the individuals receiving services. Support may be provided in activity rooms, workplaces, places of worship, and other community settings. The environment may be fast-paced and able to adjust to changing needs, schedules, and activities.
