Under the direction of the Director of Care, the Community Relations Coordinator (CRC) works to create awareness in the community of the mission and work of Tabor Village. The CRC works closely with the Executive Director to connect and create partnerships in the community to spread awareness of the vision, mission, and values of Tabor Village. The CRC is responsible for recruiting and directing the volunteer program at Tabor. The CRC also works closely with the Executive Director to coordinate both internal and external events at Tabor Village. Under the direction of the Director of Care, the CRC is also involved in developing marketing material and social media content.
The CRC is a Tabor Culture champion and leads the volunteers and other Community Stakeholders by Engaging, creating positive Experiences for them to deliver on the mission and vision of Tao
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience
· 2 years of experience in a community-facing role with demonstrated ability to create and expand community networks.
· A certificate in marketing, communications, public relations or fund raising would be an asset.
· Experience with online graphic tools (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, etc) and communication tools (Constant Contact) would be an asset.
· Certificate in volunteer management with a minimum of 2 years of experience in volunteer management is preferable.
· Working knowledge of social media (Facebook, Instagram).
· Practicing knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is an asset.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer Program
1. Works closely with the Directors of Care, HR, Support Services, and maintenance supervisors to create volunteer opportunities within their departments.
2. Promote volunteering externally in the community through recruitment, publicity strategies, and campaigns.
3. Offers advice and information to potential volunteers and external organizations through face-to-face, telephone and email contact.
4. Actively raising staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers, connecting volunteers to staff needs and requests.
5. Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organization.
6. Interview and recruit volunteers and ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position.
7. Provide continual support for onboard volunteers and ensure training for volunteers is obtained.
8. Motivating, supporting, monitoring and accrediting volunteers for the work they have accomplished through celebratory events and awards.
9. Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
10. Keep up to date with legislation and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
11. Work with the Director of Finance to create and maintain a budget for the organization.
12. Monitor and evaluate volunteer activities and write reports.
13. Attend relevant committees and meetings as needed, maintain applicable databases, and undertake any other administrative duties.
Community Relations, Fundraising and Event Planning
1. Develops partnerships with community partners, churches, and local business to communicate volunteer opportunities and develop relationships.
2. Organize community awareness events within Tabor Village with the goal of spreading the mission and message of Tabor.
3. Work with the Executive Director to coordinate fundraising events, functions and strategies for the benefit of Tabor Village.
4. Coordinate with the Director of HR to assist with staff events.
5. Researches, develops and maintains a grant cycle calendar for Tabor Village.
6. Supports the Executive Director in grant writing initiatives to raise funds for organization-wide campaigns.
Marketing and Social Media
1. Works with the Executive Director to develop marketing material such as posters, newsletters, brochures, and flyers related to both internal and external events.
2. Under the direction of the Executive Director Tabor’s social media platforms to create and promote information, messages and updates related to various events at Tabor.
