About the Role We’re looking for a Community Relations & Events Manager to be a key public representative of Empowered Services within Oregon’s IDD community. You’ll build the relationships, visibility, and trust that connect compassionate team members with Empowered Services and help IDD families find the support they need. This role supports two pipelines: attracting Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and other team members and growing customer awareness (families, brokerages, referral partners). You’ll plan events, develop community partnerships, help lead brand and outreach strategy, and serve as our primary community liaison. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer. This role leads community outreach strategy and relationship-building efforts while partnering with internal support staff who assist with content, design, communications, and digital execution. What You’ll Do Build Community Relationships • Develop partnerships with advocacy groups, schools, workforce agencies, brokerages, CDDP case managers, and IDD organizations • Represent Empowered Services at community meetings, networking events, and partner functions • Build and maintain referral relationships that drive customer growth • Join the CEO for presentations to brokerages, CDDP offices, and community partners Plan & Lead Events • Plan and execute hiring events, job fairs, and community recruitment campaigns • Organize hosted events for IDD individuals, families, and Empowered Services team members (seasonal celebrations, community activities like bowling and library outings) • Manage event logistics, budgets, promotion, and outcomes tracking • Partner with our hiring and care teams to ensure events generate both qualified candidates and customer connections • Organize internal team events and recognition activities that reinforce culture and connection • Attend Meet and Greet sessions to support service initiation and relationship continuity Drive Brand & Awareness • Provide strategic direction for social media and online presence, in partnership with support staff who handle day-to-day execution • Guide the monthly newsletter and coordinate community talks, speaking opportunities, and selected outreach content such as the Empowered podcast • Partner with internal support resources on outreach materials, website updates, and community-facing content • Coordinate photos, testimonials, impact stories, and onboarding brand materials with appropriate consent and privacy protections Grow the Customer Pipeline • Generate and nurture customer leads through outreach and relationship-building • Hand off referrals to our Intake team for follow-up and conversion • Track referral sources, outreach outcomes, and community engagement trends Compliance & Confidentiality This role may involve access to sensitive provider and customer information in the course of event coordination and outreach. You’ll be expected to maintain strict confidentiality and help ensure public-facing materials meet applicable employment and regulatory requirements. What Success Looks Like • Strong referral relationships across your region • Well-run events that generate candidate and customer interest • Consistent community visibility and outreach follow-through • Qualified candidate and customer leads are regularly handed off to the right internal teams What You Bring • A genuine heart for people and a passion for serving the IDD community • Experience in community relations, marketing, event coordination, or referral development • Strong communication skills — comfortable representing the agency in public • Creative thinker with experience in content strategy and social media direction • Highly organized — can manage multiple events and projects at once • Comfortable building relationships across diverse communities and organizations • Proficient with Google/Windows platforms; Canva or similar design tools preferred • Access to reliable transportation for regular local and regional travel to events, partner meetings, and community outreach • Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred but not required • Must be cleared through Oregon’s Background Check Unit (BCU) • Knowledge of the I/DD community preferred • High school diploma or GED required Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $29.00+ Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • PTO and performance bonus • 401K with 3% employer match • Occasional evening/weekend events — all hours compensated Why Empowered Services?
